Homework Policy:
READING:
Students are expected to read and/or be read to each evening for about 20 minutes. Make it fun! Students can read library books, books they have at home, magazines, etc.
MATH:
We are excited about our new math curriculum, Bridges in Mathematics! Home Connections is a component of this program. On average, two activities will be sent home each week. They are in the forms of worksheets and games and are extensions of our classroom learning. Please use them as you see fit with your child and your family routine.
RETURNING THEM TO SCHOOL IS OPTIONAL.
All students will be taking home the same Home Connections pages but we realize that homework is not “one-size-fits-all.” If you are looking for additional ways to support your student at home in math please visit www.mathlearningcenter.org/families/bridges2. You can also encourage your child to log into his/her Dreambox account through the Digital Resources page, which you can access through the Academics tab on our school website.
Thank you for helping your child develop strong skills and a love of math!
Occasional optional projects will be offered that supplement the work we do in class. For example, when we are learning about changes in states of matter, instructions for an optional "make a volcano" project will be sent home.
